This paper discusses UNINET, a proposed inter-University computer network in Indonesia. The network is intended to provide network service and access mainly for educators and researches in the computer field, and for administrators of state universities/ institutes. Combining computer technology telecommunication facilities, it is a logical network utilizing the services of several physical networks. Nodes can be in the form of local-area networks (LAN's) and single-host nodes. The network's architecture and functions are discussed and the implementation plans briefly laid out.

In the field of Computer Networks, this lab allows students to gain experience in designing proper networks using Open Source or from a vendor, as this lab is a partner of the Cisco Academy. This lab also cooperates with PPSI (Information Systems Development and Services) UI, allowing students to absorb additional experience in managing UI’s networks on top of the prescribed laboratory work.

Do the following: Type a password of exactly 5 ASCII characters or 10 hexadecimal digits if you chose “40-bit WEP (more compatible)” from the Security pop-up menu. Type a password of exactly 13 ASCII characters or 26 hexadecimal digits if you chose “128-bit WEP” from the Security pop-up menu. Other Wi-Fi-enabled computers within range can join the network you created by choosing it from their Wi-Fi status icon or by choosing it from the Network Name pop-up menu in the Wi-Fi pane of Network preferences. Computer-to-computer networks are not compatible with WPA or WPA2 protected networks.
